Solidarity, Inclusion & Education

Responding Today. Shaping Tomorrow.

In a world marked by rising inequalities and overlapping crises, strengthening social cohesion is both an urgent priority and a long-term commitment.
The AXA Foundation acts where needs are most immediate - supporting those most exposed to vulnerability, exclusion and violence - while investing in the future by empowering the next generation to drive lasting change.
Responding Today: Supporting the Most Vulnerable

Responding Today: Supporting the Most Vulnerable

We focus on those most at risk, strengthening support systems and promoting full participation in society:

  • Supporting vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, caregivers, youth in precarious situations including refugees;
  • Preventing and addressing violence against women and children through protection, detection, and care.
When a child or a woman suffers in silence, when a refugee struggles to rebuild a life, when a young person from an underserved neighborhood dares to dream of entrepreneurship - the AXA Foundation for Human Progress steps in through targeted initiatives that seek concrete progress in the lives of the most vulnerable, today and over the long term.

Shaping Tomorrow: Building Confidence in the Future

Shaping Tomorrow: Building Confidence in the Future

We empower individuals - especially young people - to become active agents of change and contribute to a more inclusive and resilient society.

  • Advancing inclusive and innovative education to expand opportunities for all.
  • Enabling entrepreneurship as a driver of autonomy, opportunity, and social transformation.

Unlock Education: Rethinking School as a Driver of Social Cohesion

Unlock Education: Rethinking School as a Driver of Social Cohesion

In 2025, the AXA Foundation for Human Progress and Ashoka launched “Unlock Education”, a three-year global partnership that views education as a strategic tool to reduce social fragmentation and polarization. Together, we promote education as a powerful space where children and young people build the skills necessary to thrive, and where communities strengthen their social fabric.

In a world increasingly shaped by rapid change and polarization, accelerating innovative models in education becomes critical to equipping the next generation to navigate complexity and contribute fully to society. We are proud to partner with AXA in this effort, contributing to building a more resilient and cohesive world.

IM’PACTES – Standing with Children Facing Violence

In France, many children in child protection bear the invisible scars of violence. We support the opening of the first Asterya center in Paris and soon in Bordeaux and in the Hauts-de-France - for medical, psychological, educational support to these children affected by violence -, affirming our collective responsibility to create the conditions for every child to rebuild their life.

Positiv - Acting for Economic Inclusion and Social Cohesion

In France, many talented young people from priority neighborhoods face structural barriers to employment and entrepreneurship. Positiv, a key player in economic inclusion and social cohesion, helps them build confidence, skills and networks through its programs that provides end-to-end incubation to support business creation.

From Exile to Opportunity: Education and Inclusion as a Path To Autonomy

Pierre Claver aims to help refugees rebuild an autonomous life in France through study, language, culture, and strong social ties. Our partnership focuses on scholarships for refugee students, supported by mentoring and volunteering from our employees. We also support the “SOS Afghanes / Ramzya” initiative, which is committed to offering employment opportunities to Afghan women.

France Répit - Supporting Family Caregivers

Those caring for a sick, disabled, or elderly relative are the invisible backbone of our societies. France Répit supports them through innovative respite homes and services dedicated to their well-being. With our support, they launched a pilot in Lyon and is now expanding to Île-de-France (Boulogne-Billancourt). This partnership also funds a university diploma in “Respite Care, Prevention and Support for Family Carers” with Sorbonne University.

Les Maisons des femmes - Rebuilding Women’s Lives after Violence

Les Maisons des femmes are places that offer comprehensive and coordinated support to women in vulnerable situations or who have been victims of sexual, physical or psychological violence. We are supporting the #ReStart fund which finances the purchase of medical equipment for the first Women’s Centre in Saint-Denis (Paris) and the creation of other similar « women’s homes » (in Avignon and Martinique in 2025).
