Driving Progress and Unity Across Generations

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress upholds a simple and powerful conviction: culture is the cornerstone of resilient communities.
Heritage is not about the past; it is what connects us today.
Safeguarding Heritage at Risk

Safeguarding Heritage at Risk

Protecting threatened artistic and cultural heritage - whether tangible or intangible - through programs closely connected to affected territories and communities, the AXA Foundation for Human Progress helps save the sites, stories and skills that carry collective memory and social cohesion.

Supporting New Cultural Projects and a Bold Contemporary Scene

The Foundation invests in training, artistic risk‑taking and cultural innovation so that today’s creation and know‑how become tomorrow’s heritage. It is a great honour to support living heritage and to address current economic, social and educational challenges while preserving exceptional know-how.

Rebuilding Shared Horizons

Rebuilding Shared Horizons

By protecting vulnerable heritage, passing on rare savoir-faire and supporting bold creative expression, we promote and transmit excellence in skills and living heritage, ensuring both their sustainability and international influence. The AXA Foundation for Human Progress helps recreate common ground in a world that needs it more than ever. There can be no viable society without culture and arts.
These fields explore the depths of human nature and remind us that what unites us is stronger than what divides us. The AXA Foundation for Human Progress upholds this conviction: preserving these pillars of creation and identity is essential to building a more cohesive and human world.

Striving to strengthen cultural ecosystems in the long term means undertaking cross-sector, innovative, and ambitious philanthropy initiatives designed to leave a lasting impact on communities and territories.

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress shares our belief that cultural heritage and community resilience are deeply interconnected. Their commitment to reducing risk and strengthening societies aligns closely with the purpose of the World Monuments Watch, which brings global attention and resources to sites where culture and community well-being come together. This partnership will allow WMF to respond even more effectively to the challenges facing heritage places around the world.

Archives Nationales - France’s Democratic and Cultural Heritage

As a guardian of France’s collective memory, the Hôtel de Rohan, home to the National Archives in Paris, embodies both cultural heritage and democratic citizenship. We are supporting the restoration of the “cabinet des Singes” and the Rohan cardinals’ salon, in partnership with the Fondation du Patrimoine, to help nurture a sense of civic responsibility.

Centre des Monuments Nationaux - National Monuments Centre

The CMN manages a unique collection of monuments open to all for the greater good. Its “green heritage” that surround its monuments - parks, gardens and forests - plays a key role in shaping their identity and allure. We support its ambitious ecological regeneration program, which combines biodiversity monitoring, social inclusion and cultural initiatives.

Fondation du Patrimoine - Protecting Heritage for Future Generations

Its mission is to mobilize funding for the restoration of endangered monuments, selected by the public, including AXA’s employees and agents. By combining heritage rescue, local anchoring and citizen participation, this partnership reinforces local pride, social cohesion, and the transmission of heritage to future generations. AXA is one of its founders.

Grand Egyptian Museum, Cairo

This site is an essential hub for cultural exchange and academic research. Our support on preserving Egypt’s and Africa’s cultural legacy will aim to enhance artifact conservation and promote inclusive programs to engage local communities and international visitors, fostering cross-cultural dialogue.

Opéra-Comique, Paris - Shaping the Future of Opera

For over three centuries, Opéra-Comique has been a cradle of French musical creativity and artistic innovation. It continues to shape the future of opera by supporting emerging talent and fostering international cultural exchange. As part of the Opéra-Comique Academy, launched in 2023, we are partnering its exchange programs with the Juilliard School and Villa Albertine in New York.
