The AXA Foundation for Human Progress Reaffirms its Commitment to Preserving the Sites that Enrich France’s Regions, In Partnership With the Fondation du Patrimoine

A founding member of the Fondation du Patrimoine, AXA has been working alongside the foundation since 2019 as part of the Mission Patrimoine initiative led by Stéphane Bern to preserve and promote local heritage treasures. In 2025, the AXA Foundation for Human Progress renewed its commitment to the Fondation du Patrimoine for three years.

This approach combines heritage safeguarding, local anchoring and citizen participation. It strengthens regional pride and social cohesion, while ensuring the transmission of heritage to future generations and supporting the local culture. It is also aimed at boosting the local economy by promoting job creation.

By protecting this local heritage, we are taking action to preserve what matters and build a more resilient and inclusive future alongside our partners.

Over the past seven years, AXA’s funding has helped support the preservation of 38 remarkable sites. The grant from the AXA Foundation for Human Progress complements the funds allocated by Mission Patrimoine, the program implemented by the Fondation du Patrimoine and supported by the Ministry of Culture and FDJ UNITED.

Public Voting

One site per major French region is sponsored (West, Ile-de-France, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast, as well as one site in the overseas territories). The site is selected- from among the priority projects of the network identified by Mission Patrimoine through votes cast by AXA employees and the general public.

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress provides financial support to the six selected projects.
