Building Inclusive, Fair, and Resilient Futures

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress supports high‑impact, daring initiatives in Science, Nature, Solidarity and Culture, to strengthen social cohesion and serve the common good.

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress is committed to rebuilding shared horizons and unlocking collective progress for current and future generations.

It provides the means to sustain, coordinate and enhance the longstanding shared commitments of AXA Group and AXA Mutuelles d’assurances, empowering academics, non-profit organizations and institutions on the ground and fostering a genuine culture of prevention.

By embedding "human progress" in its very name, it affirms its full alignment with AXA's purpose: Act for Human Progress by Protecting What Matters.

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress aims to unlock the full potential of philanthropy as a force for societal innovation.

Being an insurer means making solidarity a fundamental principle. In a world marked by crisis, fractures and a growing fragmentation of society, our responsibility is to build new common horizons. The AXA Foundation for Human Progress embodies this conviction: social cohesion is at the heart of AXA's business, and our philanthropic commitment is a natural extension of this.

Thomas Buberl Chairman of the AXA Foundation for Human Progress, CEO of AXA

The AXA Foundation for Human Progress is the natural, non-profit extension of the insurer’s core mission.

It carries a vision of protection that goes beyond insurable risks, embracing the resilience of societies, the reduction of inequalities, and access to culture and knowledge.
In a context of deepening social fractures, the need to rebuild cohesion has never been greater. At a time when societal commitments can come under pressure, AXA Group and AXA Mutuelles d’assurances have chosen to reaffirm and deepen theirs, positioning the Foundation as a catalyst for concrete, measurable change.

Since their creation, the AXA Mutuelles d'assurances have been committed to the protection of people and solidarity in the heart of the territories. This Foundation continues a long tradition of commitment to society. It allows us to pool our strengths and enhance the impact of our actions over time.
